LIFE: Lecture 2 – Funding Your Startup
LIFE (Lectures in Faculty Entrepreneurship) is a new lunchtime lecture series designed to help faculty understand important issues when translating their innovations off campus in ways that broaden their impact. Aimed at Princeton faculty innovators across all disciplines, the monthly sessions will discuss important aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation in the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities and the arts. The series features leading experts in the field of startup creation, and covers topics such as legal incorporation, funding strategies, effective teambuilding and product-market fit.

The second LIFE session will include discussions on how different funding sources are structured (VC, angels, foundations, government/SBIR, etc.) and how to select the right investor type for your company, how to connect with the right potential investors, the contents of a good pitch, knowing your audience (what your investor type is looking for to make a decision), investment due diligence (what to expect and what materials to have ready) and what to expect from your investor relationship as your company grows.
