UEA 2020 Lectures on Urban Economics
This June and July, the Urban Economics Association is organizing a weekly online lecture series on urban economics. The purpose of these lectures is to provide PhD students, post-docs and junior faculty with an introduction to the current research frontier in urban economics. We interpret urban economics broadly, including housing, real estate, transportation, local public good provision, the spatial distribution of activities, economic geography, and urban or regional policy.

Full Schedule

25 June: Gilles Duranton
2 July: Steve Redding

Registration for this event is free of charge. You only need to register once for the entire lecture series. Once you have registered, you will receive an email with the Zoom link for the lectures.

Participants will be able to ask questions during the lectures through the Q&A chat window, which also allows upvoting of questions of other participants. The Q&A chat will be monitored by the moderator, who will either raise the questions with the presenter during discussion breaks or otherwise selectively unmute participants so that they can ask the question in person. Besides this, all attendees are muted throughout to improve the audio quality. Seminars will be recorded and available on YouTube a few days later. Please note that you will be recorded if you speak during the seminar.

Clare Balboni (MIT), Donald Davis (Columbia University), Fabian Eckert (Princeton and UCSD), Daniel Sturm (London School of Economics), Matthew Turner (Brown University).
